Collimators
Collimators are optical systems used to imitate standard targets placed in "optical infinity" (very long distance). The collimators are used for projection of image of reference targets into direction of tested imagers. According to type of optical elements used in design, collimators are divided into two groups: reflective collimators and refractive collimators. Reflective collimators due to their wide spectral range are almost exclusively used in systems for testing thermal imagers and are also preferable in systems testing TV cameras, SWIR imagers, laser systems or multi-sensor surveillance systems. Refractive collimators are mostly used in systems for testing night vision devices or TV cameras working in visible/near infrared range.

In a switchable interleaver, there are two operation modes: *Mode A: All pass *Mode B: InterleaverIn Mode A, the system operates at any channel spacing, in which all channels pass through the device and output from one of the two output ports as if there is no extra device inserted. When the system is switched to Mode B, the device operates as a normal optical interleaver, such 50-100GHz interleaver. The working principle is schematically shown below. Based upon the EmStat range, there are two types of multiplexers to suit most types of sensor array work. The MUX8 is the most flexible offering the ability to connect arrays made of up to eight working electrodes in two or three electrode cell types and chips sharing a reference electrode and/or counter electrode. The MUX16 is suitable for sensor arrays or chips with sixteen working electrodes all sharing a RE and/or a CE.
