Solar Simulator

TS-Space Systems is the first company to pioneer the use of metal halide sources in solar simulators for photovoltaic testing. The high temporal stability and close spectral match combined with the ability to control the output spectrum via multiple separate wavebands means the Unisim solar simulator is the only solar research tool designed for the accurate measurement of multiple junction devices, including the new generation of four junction devices. Light Meters
A light meter is a very sensitive electronic measuring device used to help monitor the illumination of any given area. Most light meter devices are small in size, simple to operate and equipped with an easy-to-read lighted screen made of special glass. Typically, a heavy-duty housing protects the light sensor inside the light meter from damage. A light meter is used for measuring brightness in lux (lx), foot candle (fc) or candela per square meter (cd/m²)measuring units. Some light meter devices are equipped with an internal memory or data logger to record and save measurements. The measurement of light intensity with a light meter is becoming increasingly important in the workplace due to safety concerns. Solar Simulation
Sciencetech solar simulators produce high intensity, uniform illumination on a target area. Typically, high power solar simulators use an ellipsoidal reflector to capture light from an arc lamp source inside the reflector, an arrangement that results in a light pattern with a bright outer region and a dark center. This non-uniformity is un- acceptable in many solar simulator applications and as a result, forces many of our solar simulator competitors to use designs involving diffusers to reduce the non-uniformity. This results in a reduction of intensity and a dis- tortion of the spectrum on the target area.
