OCXO
The OCXO is an oscillator which is temperature controlled (ovenized crystal controlled oscillator). This type of oscillator has a temperature controlling circuit to maintain the crystal and key components at a constant temperature. OCXO''s are typically used when temperature stabilities on the order of 1 x 10-8 or better are required. While this type of oscillator has a tenfold improvement over a TCXO for temperature stability, the OCXO tends to be higher in price and consumes more power.

Dielectric Resonator Oscillators
Dielectric resonator oscillators (DRO) are free running oscillators that utilize state-of-the-art planar circuits, three-terminal devices and dielectric resonator technology to generate high-quality microwave signals with excellent frequency stability. In addition, these oscillators are equipped with an internal voltage regulator that further improves the frequency stability by isolating the external bias pushing and modulation. In general, these oscillators are fixed. However, a small mechanical or electrical tuning range can be achieved by use of a self-locking screw or an integrated Varactor diode. The standard offering covers the frequency range of 2 to 40 GHz. While standard models are equipped with female SMA and K connectors at the RF port, other RF interface options are also available.

Rubidium Standard with Optional DDS Signal Generator
1450B
The 1450B outputs can be configured as sine waves or square waves and can provide frequencies of 10MHz, 1MHz, 100kHz, 1pps or optional signal generator outputs. The signal generator outputs use direct digital synthesizer (DDS) technology and are confirurable from 100Hz to 171MHz. The 1450B also includes a 1pps input that can be used to discipline and automatically calibrate the 1450B. The 1pps input signal is typically obtained from an external device like a GPS frequency receiver/antenna. TCXO
A TCXO is a emperature compensated crystal oscillator. The basic building block for a TCXO is a VCXO with approximately 50 ppm deviation range and a temperature sensitive network. This temperature sensitive network (temperature compensation circuit) applies a voltage to the varactor diode that corrects the frequency of the VCXO at any temperature within the operating temperature range.
