Chamber/Pyroelectric Task
Radiant's Chamber/Pyroelectric Task sets the sample to a series of temperatures by performingGPIB control of an external thermal device. At each temperature it captures the sample’s polarization response and/or small-signalcapacitance. These are combined to calculate the pyroelectric coefficient. The Pyroelectric Task is to be used with a Radiant Test System and a Linkam Stage (-196C to 600C), Thermal Chambers, Hot Chucks, or a Furnace to automatically measure the Pulse Polarization response and Small Signal Capacitance of a Pyroelectric material that is being heated and/or cooled. Radiant's Pyroelectric measurement Task can be added to Vision at additional cost. This measurement suite fully characterizes the pyroelectric charge (polarization) response of the sample under test. Probe Antennas

Dual Polarized Antennas
Dual polarized horn antennas are offered as both standard and custom models with rectangular waveguide interfaces for both horizontal and vertical ports. These dual polarized horn antennas support both linear and elliptical polarized waveforms. When the antenna receives a circular polarized waveform, equal amplitude linear polarized waveforms are output at both horizontal and vertical ports. When two equal amplitude linear polarized waveforms are input into the vertical and horizontal ports, the antenna will transmit a circular polarized waveform. The listed models offer 15 dB nominal gain and 33/28 degrees typical half power beamwidth at the center frequency of the band. They also exhibit 40 dB typical port isolation and 35 dB nominal cross polarization. These antennas cover full waveguide bandwidths within the frequency range of 8.2 to 110 GHz. The 2-MGEM Optical Anisotropy Factor Measurement System is a normal-incidence polarization reflection microscope designed to measure the sample Mueller matrix and is a 2008 R&D 100 Award Winner. This system is designed specifically to evaluate the Optical Anisotropy Factor (OPTAF) of cross sections of TRISO nuclear fuel pyrocarbon layers. Other possible material characterizations include measuring Mueller matrix elements of other crystals, carbon compounds, and thin film coatings (e.g. surfacedeposition films) at normal incidence. The 2-MGEM can also measure retardation (d), circular diattenuation (CD) and the polarization factor (ß). These parameters are not measurable using older techniques, since those techniques do not incorporate a compensating optical element.
